What are the responsibilities and job description for the NP/PA - Hospitalist position at GIBSON AREA HOSPITAL?
- Practice under the supervision of the Hospitalist.
- Perform physical examinations, laboratory tests and health screening measures.
- Teach patients all aspects of health care.
- Counsel patients and families in family issues as appropriate.
- Assess and manage illness under guidelines approved by medical staff.
- Refer patients to other health care providers or community agencies when and as appropriate.
- Contribute to devising, executing, and periodically reviewing written policies/clinical protocols governing the services provided by the hospital.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program leading to a Masters Degree and/or meets the Advanced Nursing Practice requirements set forth by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
- Must process appropriate certification and degree from a United States Institution of Higher Education.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois prior to beginning employment.
- Computer literacy required.
