In the care giver role, the EMT-Basic/Intermediate/Paramedic, assumes the responsibility for the emergency treatment and routine transfers of patients.
As field leader, the EMT-Intermediate/Paramedic directs and oversees the care given by their co-workers, other EMS personnel, and bystanders via delegation for highest level of care, coordination, supervision, validation, and evaluation.
EMT-Basic/Intermediate perform patient care technician duties in ER within their licensure as directed by RN.
