Position Summary
Apply enamel to fabricated metal components using an HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray system.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Prior experience and knowledge of the application of enamel paint systems, including surface preparation, masking, mixing, and application techniques.
- Strong understanding of HVLP spray equipment setup, adjustment, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and best practices when working with paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials.
- Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes.
Role Priorities
- Ensure all surfaces that require paint are free of surface contaminates and cosmetically acceptable prior to paint application.
- Maintain paint guns to ensure a high-quality application of primer and paints.
- Maintain the paint shop in a clean and orderly manner.
- Use material handling equipment as necessary.
Role Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience applying industrial coatings in a manufacturing environment
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Experience performing routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting spray equipment, and identifying potential issues before they affect production.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and assembly personnel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as a part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to spend extended time bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in physically demanding positions.
- Must be capable of wearing a respirator and other required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
- Must be capable of lifting 50lbs and handling materials safely and efficiently.
