The Senior Accountant / Division Controller leads the accounting function for a manufacturing division within a diversified group of companies. This role is ideal for a CPA or CPA-track accountant ready to take ownership of a divisions accounting while working within a supportive group structure. The position manages the accounting and financial reporting for one operating company while collaborating with other division controllers and the Group Controller for guidance, support, and best practices.
What Youll Do
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Produce internal financial statements and management reports.
- Support manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost analysis.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Maintain schedules for prepaids, accruals, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support audit preparation and financial reviews.
- Work with operations leadership to support financial decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
What You Bring
- Manufacturing accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Experience with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, and motivated to grow into a leadership role in finance.
- Ability to collaborate with division controllers, group leadership, and operational teams.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- 36 years of accounting experience.
