We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial coatings, including surface preparation, airless spray application, powder coating, and application of Zinc primer and Acrylic topcoat. This position requires attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure high-quality finishes that meet project and customer specifications.

- Report to and take direction from the Supervisor or Foreman
- Follow established coating application procedures and accurately complete required documentation
- Obtain and organize supplies and materials per project requirements
- Perform surface preparation and masking in accordance with shop drawings and coating instructions
- Apply Zinc primer, Acrylic topcoat, and powder coatings to steel components according to project specifications
- Mix coatings according to manufacturer-recommended ratios, including proper thinning and viscosity checks
- Adjust pressure and select appropriate spray equipment for the job
- Conduct Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and other required quality control checks as indicated on project route sheets
- Perform touch-ups, repairs, and corrections as directed
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and properly store equipment after use
- Identify and report defects, non-conformities, or process issues to the Foreman promptly
- Adhere to all project requirements, safety protocols, and company quality standards
- Optimize material usage to minimize waste and ensure efficient use of coatings
- Protect and maintain the identification of customer-supplied materials throughout production
- Apply coating best practices in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, including Zinc primers, Acrylics, and powder coating applications
- Ability to perform stripe coating, masking, and paint mixing independently
- Skilled in touch-up work and identifying coating issues during production
- Ability to manage and maintain proper mil thickness without supervision
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and shop drawings for masking and application requirements
- Competence in completing required paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Ability to follow directions, maintain productivity, and uphold quality and safety standards
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and workmanship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of industrial painting experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or coatings environment
- Experience with airless spray systems, powder coating, and multi-coat paint systems
- Experience with structural steel painting or industrial shop coatings
- Familiarity with coating inspection tools (e.g., WFT gauges, DFT gauges)
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and coating quality control standards
