Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Audiovisual Technician to join our team as a 1099 contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of audiovisual systems across various settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while providing exceptional service to clients and colleagues alike. The work will begin at the end of January and go through the middle of March. The hours will be later in the day, starting around 3 PM and going until around 11 PM each day. Pay varies depending on experience in low-voltage work.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and control units.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on AV systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Diagnose technical issues related to software, hardware, cabling, and network connectivity; resolve problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install or repair systems.
- Manage low voltage cabling installations for telecommunication and AV systems using hand tools and mechanical knowledge.
- Conduct field service visits to client sites for system setup, upgrades, repairs, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with electrical and telecommunications teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience working with audiovisual systems in a professional environment.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation) principles.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with software troubleshooting related to AV control systems and conferencing platforms.
- Mechanical aptitude for installing hardware using hand tools and understanding of mechanical components.
- Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure including wiring standards and connectors.
- Ability to perform field service tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
