Our firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join and become an integral member of our growing team.
About the Role:
We are seeking to hire an aggressive and highly professional attorney with Michigan workers’ compensation defense experience who is able to handle complex workers’ compensation cases as part of our team. In this role, the candidate will handle and work with senior attorneys on a diverse caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters, from inception to resolution. You’ll work closely with partners and clients to provide strategic guidance, draft and argue motions and briefs, attend hearings, conduct depositions, and develop strong case strategies, all while keeping clients advised of developments and involved in the litigation as needed. A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in Michigan workers’ compensation defense practice is preferred. Candidates both with and without their own clients will be considered. Each candidate’s entire background and presentation will be important parts of the interview process.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation defense files
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and trial pleadings
- Represent clients at depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and all appeals
- Provide timely case analysis and reporting to clients
- Collaborate with team members and clients to build effective defense strategies
- Maintain excellent communication with clients, adjusters, and colleagues

Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active licensure in Michigan
- A minimum of 4 years of Michigan workers’ compensation defense litigation experience is preferred
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Highly organized individual
