- Visually inspect all inbound loads, including tractor-trailer and roll-off vehicles. Use the provided yard vehicle to safely navigate all areas of the yard.
- Photograph any loads containing nonconforming material and send pictures to the office for review.
- Communicate with Yard Operators and Scale House over the two-way radio regarding any deductions being applied.
- Pick up nonferrous metals from the ferrous yard.
- Operate and maintain various pieces of heavy equipment, including but not limited to front-end loaders, skid steers, and forklifts.
- Perform daily inspections on all equipment and promptly report deficiencies to the maintenance department.
- Process and drain end-of-life vehicles.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, and forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments as needed.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members over the radio and in person.
- A commitment to workplace safety and equipment maintenance.
