What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technician position at Giacare Inc?
About the Role:
In anticipation of future government awards, GiaCare Inc. is now accepting applications for Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technicians to support Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Education and Experience:
- EEG technicians shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, a background with Anatomy and Physiology. WRNMMC will provide on-site training required to sit for The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) Exam. Cost of the ABRET Exam will not be covered by WRNMMC.
- EEG Technicians shall have a minimum of one (1) year of basic medical experience. The contract cardiovascular technician shall be proficient on the selection and placement of leads to detect electrical brain activity.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
Duties:
Perform electroencephalogram (EEG) testing to assess brain electrical activity.
Conduct patient assessments and obtain relevant medical history, as needed.
Measure and record patient vital signs prior to procedures.
Transfer and store EEG data on local servers for provider interpretation.
Apply appropriate aseptic/sterile techniques during site preparation with antiseptic solution.
Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff in English, both verbally and in writing.
Maintain up-to-date licensure, certifications, and training documentation in Joint Training Record (JTR) folders.
