Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone lines promptly and professionally
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments
- Direct triage calls appropriately
- Receive hospital consults and notify the correct provider
- Relay urgent messages to physicians
- Assist in distributing medical records as needed
- Support additional administrative tasks as assigned
- Complete location-specific responsibilities as directed by management
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules or workflows
- Professional demeanor and dependable work ethic
- Comfortable using multi-line phones and basic office technology
- High school diploma/GED required
- Minimum 6 months of related administrative or front desk experience
- Regular use of phones, computers, and office tools
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching
- Moderate noise level typical of an office environment
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Experience working in a medical office
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented
- Basic understanding of healthcare plans
- Be able to read and understand medical benefits.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Experience: 2-5 years of prior medical scheduling is preferred
Requirements For Level I Status
- Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
- Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient technical (computer) skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Self-motivated with initiative.
- Strong sense of ethics.
