Position purpose
The Histology Technician’s main responsibility is to perform all functions in the histology lab to include embedding, microtomy, staining and filing.

Qualifications
Education: HT or HTL (ASCP) or eligible required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in histology preferred.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Must be proficient in the following areas:
- Embedding
- Microtomy
- Routine Staining
- Special Staining/immunohistochemistry
- File slides, block and paperwork in alpha-numeric order
- Equipment use and quality control
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: HT or HTL (ASCP) or eligible required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in histology preferred.
Requirements For PRN Status
- PRN employees must not work more than 29 hours per week or 1000 hours per year.
- PRN employees must not work a reoccurring schedule.
- Must be proficient in histology
- Must be reliable
- Excellent communication skills
