Title: Delivery Driver
Reports to: Ghyslain Maurais
Location: Artisan Center, Union City, Indiana
Basic Function: Delivery Driver is responsible to: 1) Load, deliver and unload product to customers ensuring that all deliveries are documented correctly, 2) Develop and maintain excellent customer relations with all customers, 3) Maintain time and temperature on products delivered so that the quality and appearance meets the standards of company.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED. Physical demands are standing, stooping, and kneeling, use of hands, eyes and arms. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Equipment Used: Delivery Truck
Schedule and Route: Open Availability on Wednesday and Friday needed; other days could be available. Travel encompasses States surrounding Indiana. 20-40 Hours
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Including, but not limited to:
- Organize deliveries to customers daily to maximize truck space and ease of deliveries.
- Ensure that all paperwork is correctly documented for deliveries. Overages and shortages are noted, and the proper paperwork is turned into corporate office.
- Timely load and unload product at Artisan Center and designated delivery locations.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with delivery customers. Report on any customer concerns about product and delivery to General Manager.
- Pick up product as scheduled and deliver to appropriate locations.
- Maintain driver’s logbooks for company records to turn in on a daily basis.
- Unload truck at the end of day and plan schedule for the following day in a timely manner.
- Work as a team to meet weekly delivery goals.
- Maintain delivery truck in a clean and organized manner.
- Report any traffic or speed violations to manager while driving company vehicles. The driver is responsible for payment of traffic violation tickets to local authorities while working.
- Responsible to maintain a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
- Ensure proper rotation of perishable items while pulling stock to load trucks.
- Practice preventative maintenance on trucks, report any issues immediately.
- Assure compliance with health department requirements, safety codes and HACCP procedures relevant to food and delivery of product.
- Minimize waste in the process. Report any damaged or wasted product while on deliveries.
- Assist General Manager as needed with unexpected deliveries, pickups and additional requests to meet the needs of the business.
