- Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team with clear ownership, accountability, and delivery focus.
- Establish prioritization and escalation paths to minimize dependency on senior management and contain issues within the engineering function.
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of projects with a strong emphasis on quality, timelines, and efficiency.
- Provide hands-on technical direction in Java, Oracle/PL-SQL, and system architecture reviews.
- Align engineering execution with strategic IT objectives and long-term technology roadmaps.
- Implement governance for progress tracking, visibility, incident RCA, and release management (using Jira, MoM, etc.).
- Drive process improvements to shift focus from operational tasks to strategic initiatives.
- Manage risks proactively and unblock teams to maintain momentum and delivery timelines.
- 8–12 years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in engineering or people management.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and database architecture (Oracle/PL-SQL).
- Proven track record of project delivery, technical oversight, and architecture governance.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in healthcare or working knowledge of compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC2) is preferred.
