What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at GHJ?
We’re partnering with a well-established, publicly traded community bank (~$500M in assets) to identify a Chief Financial Officer. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key partner in driving the bank’s financial strategy and performance.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance leader within banking who wants to step into a true #2 position and play a central role in decision-making.
\n- Lead all financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including Call Reports and audit processes
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board on financial strategy
- Manage liquidity, capital planning, and balance sheet strategy
- Participate in ALCO and provide insight into interest rate risk and NIM
- Ensure compliance with all banking regulations and internal controls
- Experience within a bank or financial institution (required)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting (Call Reports highly preferred)
- Experience interacting with regulators (FDIC, OCC, or Federal Reserve)
- Background in liquidity management, capital planning, and loan/deposit mix
- Proven leadership experience within accounting/finance
- CPA is a plus, but not required
- Direct access to CEO and executive leadership
- High visibility and influence across the organization
