Ghirardelli makes life a bite better! Full Time Temporary Production WorkInitial assignment - up to 4 months of workLocation: San Leandro, CA Pay: $20.50 per hour * Bonus potential of $600 with completion of 4-month assignment and satisfactory job performance and attendance (640 hours) Must pass a background check, 50lb lift test and drug screen.Safety Shoes required. Up to $50 reimbursement for Safety shoes.Required to wear personal Protective Equipment issued by company. Temporary EmployeesAre required to join the union and will receive a reduced initiation fee.Earn sick leave according to the CA labor codes, 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.Receive a product purchase discount of 50% on chocolate and ice cream fountain products!!Summary:This is a Union environment.  Full Time Temporary Production position for up to 4 months. The Temporary Production Worker is responsible for packing, bagging, wrapping, marking, box or bag forming, machine feeding, table work or other production or finishing work of like nature involving similar skill and responsibility.This position, by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, is responsible for recommending, developing, implementing and managing safety, quality and food safety on all product lines.Scope of Responsibilities:Ability to work independently and as a part of a teamMust be a fast learner who is open to learning new skillsMust have the ability to stand while working for up to 8 hoursLifting up to 50 lbs.Able to work in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work in different environments- exposure to heat, cold or humid conditions on a regular basisPotential for overtimeMust be responsible, reliable, with a positive attitude! Specific Knowledge and Skills:Responsible for the successful operations of the production of Ghirardelli productStrives for continuous improvement in quality, safety, schedule adherence, costs, and wasteAbility to problem solve and resolve production opportunities or down linesRaise appropriate production issues to supervisorParticipate in departmental and corporate projectsMust maintain regular and prompt attendance.May include other tasks or projects as assignedEducation and Work Experience:A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED preferred1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferredPrevious experience working with automated machinery preferredPrevious experience or exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools preferredComputer skills a plusDivision: OperationsFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Production SupervisorDirect Reports: NoneGroup 1 classification Powered by JazzHRRs5aPy2Dca
