Glass House Cannabis is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Operations Project Manager to coordinate and lead cross-functional initiatives through our evolving OPS PMO.
This role will be critical to the integration and evolution of our farm culture and related construction and operations. The Operations Project Manager Oversees the end-to-end delivery of projects related to Construction in Process (CIP), and possibly New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), and other OPS related programs and projects.
A strong engineering or construction background is highly desired. The successful candidate will champion stage gate processes, governance standards, and risk/issue management to ensure initiatives align with business goals, budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements in the cannabis industry.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery, with a focus on operational excellence in execution.
- Assist in the development and rollout of ePMO methodologies to manage all project lifecycle phases through a governance and stage gate frameworks.
- Own project schedules, budgets, resources, and scope while proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks, as well as tracking risks and issues.
Governance & Reporting
- Define and enforce governance frameworks, ensuring project alignment with business strategy, compliance standards, and performance metrics.
- Report project health/status to executive leadership, including KPIs, milestones, and risk registers.
- Assist with development and use of ePMO documentation and that controls are maintained, accurate, and audit ready.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential risks and issues; develop and maintain mitigation plans and escalation procedures.
- Lead cross-functional risk reviews and “post-operative” retrospectives to analyze and promote a learning culture and continuous improvement.
Construction in Process (CIP)
- Collaborate with FARM OPS, Facilities, and engineering to manage a wide array of operations-based programs/projects with varying levels of complexity, duration, and budget levels
- Ensure CIP projects meet strategic goals, timing, and budgets through lifecycle of projects.
CAPEX Management
- Collaborate with Operational Teams, Compliance, and Finance teams driving CapEx ROI, prioritization, and on-going spend.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the liaison between leadership, functional teams, and external partners.
- Help usher in transformational change, building a collaborative environment, and not afraid to challenging (respectfully) assumptions.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and foster alignment around project goals and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
- PMP preferred.
- 7–10 years of project management and operations leadership experience, ideally in CPG, manufacturing, farm operations, or regulated industries (cannabis a plus).
- Proven expertise in transformational leadership, implementing project methodologies and operational governance.
- Strong understanding of construction management processes and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Demonstrated ability to translate goals into executable projects, manage budgets, timelines, and teams in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, or similar PM software.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated sectors.
- Agile/Hybrid project management certification or training.
- Change management certification (e.g., PROSCI) is a plus.
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and driving efficiency in fast-paced environments.
