What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Perform technical work in drainage design and permitting for highway projects, with little or no supervision. This includes, but is not limited to, the design of storm sewers, roadside swales/ditches, retention/detention ponds, exfiltration trenches, and pollution control structures.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
- Assist in the preparation of Project Development & Environmental (PD&E) reports. This includes collecting drainage data, evaluating floodplain impacts, defining drainage areas, determining outfall locations, establishing permit criteria, defining the involved permit agencies, making recommendations on alternatives and computing cost estimates.
- Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or a related field).
- Licensed Engineer In Training (EIT) in the State of Florida
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in drainage design for highway and roadway projects.
- Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, Drainage Manual, and Drainage Design Guide.
- Prior experience on FDOT District 6 (D6)
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
