As our innovative business continues to grow rapidly, we are seeking a full-time Senior Buyer at our Richmond location. Position: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours Hybrid Format: 1 day per week remote Salary: Between $60,000 to $80,000 per year, plus annual bonus based on performance Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure adequate stock on hand for a variety of fresh and frozen products including all details such as specs and delivery arrangements Prepare purchase orders and related documents Manage inventory levels for production & sales Follow up on a variety of purchasing-related tasks Meet or exceed expectations laid out in the purchasing scorecard such as fill rates, inventory caps and long & slow inventory Manage sourcing of new products to keep customers competitive and current on the market trends Stay on top of market shifts/updates to negotiate the best pricing in a commodity marketplace Initiate and maintain healthy internal and external customer and vendor relations Communicate all relevant information to other departments Requirements: A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the food industry and relative retail environment Good knowledge of purchasing food commodities Strong computer systems skills Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving, innovation and customer service skills Meat knowledge and experience is a definite asset Intercity Packers offers a range of benefits, including: Comprehensive health and dental benefits (including vision, prescription drugs, disability, and extended health coverage) Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Matching Program Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Weekly paychecks Employee Family Assistance Program Opportunities for career advancement Employee Recognition Programs Company-sponsored events (Family Picnic, Staff Celebration, BBQs) Training opportunities Annual Safety Boot Allowance Program Full-time hours A team-oriented work environment Special employee discounts on meat and seafood products At Intercity Packers Meat & Seafood, we believe in good food and good people.
