Responsibilities Include:
This Supply Chain Manager role is open to entry level candidates, but ideal candidates will have 2 years of chemical industry experience. This position will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory optimization of raw materials and packaging for our McKinley campus operations. The Shared Services group is made up of our Engineering, maintenance, quality, EHS, and purchasing departments that support our three Divisional business units. This role will be focused on support of the two business units on our McKinley campus.
Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans:
o Collaborate with senior management to establish supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals.
o Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the chemical industry.
o Optimize inventory management practices to ensure a cost-effective and timely supply of chemicals and related materials.
Manage supplier relationships:
o Identify and qualify suppliers of chemical materials, conducting thorough evaluations to ensure quality and compliance.
o Negotiate contracts and establish pricing agreements that optimize value and maintain a competitive edge.
o Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues or concerns to ensure consistency in supply chain operations.
Coordinate logistics and transportation:
o Develop and maintain relationships with logistics providers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions.
o Monitor and optimize logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
Maintain accurate data and reporting:
o Utilize supply chain management systems to track inventory levels, demand forecasting, and supplier performance.
o Generate reports and provide analysis on supply chain performance, identifying key metrics and areas for improvement.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting across the organization.
Drive continuous improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
o Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management, specifically within the chemical sector.
o Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to drive innovation and improve overall supply chain performance.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
· Preferred 2 years of experience in supply chain management, ideally in the chemical industry.
· Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships.
· Proven ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
