About the Job
GFS Chemicals is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our RAC Division at our Powell location. The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for contacting potential new customers, handling the needs of existing customers, and advancing and closing the sales process. The main objective of the Inside Sales Representative is to grow sales in their geographic regions to which they are assigned; this includes contacting customers or distributors, creating price quotes, researching new opportunities, and working with customers to find new opportunities. This may include seeking out and contacting potential customers, requesting and scheduling sample product orders, cold calling, generating sales leads, and reviewing purchase orders. Additionally, this role will provide continuous market research back to Marketing to assist in new campaigns and special offers for accounts, customers, and territories. Success is based on achieving and exceeding the sales targets of the territory set by the business unit.

Key Responsibilities
- Proficiently qualify sales opportunities, learn customer buying habits and needs, cross sell and identify key decision makers
- Identify new opportunities to expand sales with prospective and existing customers and distributors
- Proficiently work in CRM to maximize the customer experience and commit to document information from customer interactions
- Research and target new accounts and contacts within their territories
- Effectively communicate product and GFS value back to the customer
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales quota
- Communicate sales opportunities internally to gain support of other areas, i.e. purchasing and production
- Continue to develop knowledge of the industries, products, and the applications of the chemicals
- Manage inbound/outbound calls by answering questions, taking orders, providing quotes, etc.
- Develop strong customer relationships, inform customers of current sales programs, and effectively close the sales opportunities that are uncovered
- Handle product and program promotions, contracts, price quotations, and direct mailings in a timely manner
- Value focused selling, adhering to the customer discount structure when necessary
- Provide the necessary technical assistance and account service to assist the customer in sourcing their laboratory and production chemical needs
- Produce a high volume of quality outbound calls and cold calling to past, current, and potential customers
- Issue quotes on GFS products and work to convert quotes into sales
- Follow up on shipment status, back orders, etc. as requested by customers
- Follow up on sales leads, trade show inquiries, and contact lists to qualify as a potential GFS customer
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with one to two years of outbound B2B sales experience, or five years of outbound B2B sales experience with no degree
- Proficient with CRM software such as HubSpot, Salesforce or similar programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially Excel
- Familiarity with chemistry, chemicals and laboratory experience preferred but not required
- Core Skills:
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of sales concepts and principles
- Effective at managing existing accounts to retain and build the territory base
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be self-driven and have the ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task; quickly transition from one task to another while responding to interruptions
- Remains confident in challenging situations
- Outgoing and friendly personality, able to have a good relationship with others
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally and externally, both in writing and verbally
- Proficient use of and experience with Microsoft Office products; SharePoint experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Enjoys working in a team environment and ability to multitask
- Able to follow written and oral instructions
- Embraces ways to improve and accept constructive feedback
- Proficient with the English language (ability to read, write, and speak English fluently)
