What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Furnace Operator position at Gfmco Llc?
Essential Functions:
Comply with all safety criteria!
Charge furnace with specified amounts of raw material.
Take samples from furnace to ensure quality requirements are met.
Tap specified amounts of molten metal into transfer ladle.
Update and maintain Furnace Operations Report.
Safely transfer molten iron back into the furnace as required.
Bottom patch and reline furnaces as required.
● Sinter furnace linings after reline.
● Ladle repair as required.
Safely operate a hoist.
Basic Housekeeping.
Perform other tasks deemed necessary in support of melt/pouring operations.
Skills or Experience Required:
Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
Willing to follow all safety criteria including proper use of PPE.
Ability to lift and manipulate heavy and cumbersome objects.
On your feet and active most of the day in an extremely hot environment.
Other Position Demands / Requirements:
Ample overtime is available.
