- Scale House Operations:
- Weigh in and out all trucks entering the landfill or transfer station.
- Set up new trucks, issue truck permits, and test scales daily for accuracy.
- Verify the accuracy of waste disposal in proper designated areas (grid reports).
- Sales Support:
- Provide administrative support to the sales team (e.g., preparing client proposals, maintaining account records, and gathering account details).
- Assist sales representatives with customer inquiries, price quotes, and account updates.
- Administrative & Billing Duties:
- Perform general office administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, filing, managing correspondence, and ordering supplies.
- Provide accurate and efficient information for customer billing, including generating routine reports for customers and management.
- Verify the accuracy of hauls and disposal for payment processing of third-party truck hauling.
- Operations & Compliance:
- Accurately dispatch proper instructions regarding special waste disposal with operators and the Operations Manager.
- Account for various environmental compliance tasks as assigned.
- Keep landfill management apprised of any relevant community feedback or information regarding the facility.
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1–3 months of related administrative, customer service, or office support experience preferred.
- Experience in a logistics, waste management, or industrial environment is a plus.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Administrative & Tech Skills: Basic proficiency with office software (MS Office, data entry systems) and comfortable operating digital scales and billing software.
- Communication & Support: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, drivers, field operators, and the sales team.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, and hear.
- Visual Requirements: Close vision and distance vision.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
