Role Overview

GF Sprague Exteriors is building on more than five decades of trusted service across Greater Boston, where older homes, coastal moisture, freeze-thaw cycles, and New England storms create steady demand for high-quality exterior solutions.

As Principal Salesperson/Sales Manager, you will lead from the front, producing at a high level while setting the standard for how GF Sprague earns trust in the field.

We are looking for a motivated player-coach who can close business, develop sales talent, and translate GF Sprague’s reputation for craftsmanship, transparency, and long-term customer care into a repeatable sales process.

Key Responsibilities

• Own personal production Spend roughly 60% of your time selling, running appointments, building pipeline, and closing your own book of business.
• Lead and develop the team Spend roughly 40% of your time recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and developing sales representatives through ride-alongs, call reviews, and regular feedback.
• Manage performance without leaving the field Track close rates, pipeline health, activity, and margins while staying close enough to model the behaviors you expect from the team.
• Drive field activity Generate and support lead flow through referrals, prospecting, canvassing, and storm-related opportunities.
• Maintain pricing and process discipline Protect margins, reinforce consistent use of the sales process, and ensure deals make sense for both the customer and the business.
• Set the standard Demonstrate the customer experience, work ethic, accountability, and brand representation expected of every salesperson.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of field sales experience in home services, roofing, or remodeling
• Proven ability to close, conduct needs assessment, handle objections, and solution selling
• Familiarity with construction contracts, financing, and insurance/claims processes
• CRM proficiency; mobile experience preferred
• A natural leader who can develop others without giving up personal production
• Valid driver's license and the ability to be in the field daily
