What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers, Farm & Ranch Animals position at Geyer Farms?
This job requires looking in on hives and knowing the health of the hive. Checking to see if the queen is doing her job. Being able to prepare and medicate the hive and apply mite treatment as needed. Splitting hives and making nukes. Placing queen cells in hives and re-queening hives. When honey flow is on, placing supers on hives as needed. Pulling, harvesting, and extracting honey. Moving bees to pollination jobs. Gathering bees and grading them to send out for pollination jobs in California. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm
buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: beekeeping equipment, forklift, pickups, cars, etc. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: bees, honey. Must speak and understand English.
Salary : $12
