What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Hospitality position at Gevity Social Wellness Club?
Austin, TX | Full-Time | Start Date: November 1, 2025
Reports to: COO
Gevity is an 18,000-square-foot social wellness club opening in Austin this winter — a new kind of “third space” built around one simple belief: you don’t need more hustle, you need a better rhythm.
We’re creating a cultural reset — a place where ambition meets presence, where work, movement, recovery, and community finally live together under one roof. A place where good humans gather, where ideas are born, and where the details — from the warmth of a greeting to the feel of the sauna — matter as much as the vision.
We’re building something rare. And now we’re looking for the person who will make it feel that way every single day.
The Hospitality Director is the heartbeat of Gevity. You are the architect of the member experience — the person who turns our philosophy into something people feel in every interaction, every detail, and every touchpoint.
This is not a background role. It’s a leadership seat at the table, reporting directly to the COO and working across departments to design, lead, and evolve the systems that define how Gevity operates and how our members experience it.
You will shape how people move through the space, how they are welcomed, how they stay engaged, and how they build lasting relationships with our brand and community. Your work will set the standard for excellence — and ensure it’s delivered flawlessly, day after day.
- Design and own the complete 0–90 day onboarding journey for every new member.
- Build and implement retention systems, including “save playbooks,” at-risk member alerts, and proactive engagement strategies.
- Launch and manage feedback loops (NPS, surveys, direct conversations) and translate insights into actionable improvements.
- Partner with leadership on membership engagement campaigns and community integration.
- Build, train, and lead a world-class hospitality team: receptionists, instructors, and key front-of-house staff.
- Create and maintain the Gevity Hospitality Playbook — the blueprint for daily excellence.
- Establish a culture of accountability, pride, and care through weekly trainings, monthly deep dives, and quarterly reviews tied to retention outcomes.
- Foster a team environment that balances precision with warmth, systems with soul.
- Oversee all front-of-house systems: check-in, scheduling, billing, daily checklists, and standards.
- Own towel and laundry logistics, vendor coordination, supply levels, and readiness protocols.
- Ensure a flawless, five-star environment from sauna temperatures to coworking cleanliness.
- Serve as the first responder to operational issues, solving challenges quickly and communicating clearly with leadership.
- Lead the weekly class rhythm and vet instructor partners to ensure programming aligns with Gevity’s ethos.
- Plan and host hospitality-driven activations — from guided contrast rituals and recovery workshops to intimate salons and gatherings.
- Support larger community events and partnership activations, ensuring seamless member experience and hospitality integration.
- ≥ 85% founding member retention
- NPS ≥ 9.0
- 2 hospitality-led activations per month
- Zero towel or cleanliness failures after 90 days
- Fully autonomous front-of-house team
- Organic referrals increasing month over month
- 5 years of leadership experience in hospitality, wellness, premium fitness, or member-based environments.
- Proven track record building and managing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of hospitality systems, retention strategy, and operational excellence.
- A passion for creating meaningful human experiences and elevating small details into lasting impressions.
- Calm under pressure, grounded in presence, and driven by purpose.
- Obsessed with continuous improvement — from systems to team culture to the smallest guest interaction.
- If you love building environments people never want to leave, if you thrive at the intersection of systems and soul, and if you believe the smallest details shape the biggest experiences — we want to hear from you.
