DESCRIPTION
Geva Theatre, a LORT B regional theatre in the heart of Rochester, NY with an annual operating budget of $8.5 million, seeks a Company Manager to join their team. The Company Manager reports to the Managing Producer and is responsible for and provides hospitality and logistical support to all guest artists at Geva Theatre – including contract execution and AEA payroll execution. Also responsible for Geva’s core values of artistic courage, sustainability, excellence, boundless hospitality, empathy, and anti-racism and inclusion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY
Company Management
- Coordination of guest artist travel, transportation, housing, and shipping, depending on the scope of each production.
- Coordinate elements of guest artist housing preparation; including arrival packets, housing guides, welcome bags, coordination of cleaning services, maintenance communication, preparing rooms, and greeting guest artists upon arrival.
- Reserve external housing on an as needed basis and maintain relationships with our hotel partners.
- Plan and provide guest artist and staff hospitality; including tech tables, crew meals, first preview, opening night, grocery runs, coordination of company PT, etc.
- Liaise with different departments about company members’ safety and comfort needs.
- Provide on-call support in case of emergencies for employees and guest artists, with support of Production & Company Management Assistant.
- Keep up with annual inspections and regular maintenance for the company van as well as execute registration renewals for all company vehicles.
- Additional production-related duties as assigned by the Managing Producer.
Facilities & Housing
- With Facilities Manager, assess any housing repairs that may need to be planned for and executed on a rolling basis. Including inspections, pest control, HOA communication, etc.
- With Managing Producer and Production & Company Management Assistant, maintain the Geva housing grid (including necessary external housing), communication and troubleshooting housing needs as they arise; including the furnishing and outfitting of company units as needed.
- Work with our housekeeping contractors to ensure timely turnover of apartment units and ensure smooth check-in and check-out process for Guest Artists.
Administration
- With Managing Producer, execute guest artist contracts (AEA, USA, SDC, Non-Union, or Contractors) and weekly AEA payroll reporting.
- Oversee onboarding for all children performers, including explaining the state permit process to parents.
- With the Managing Producer and HR Consultant, coordinate pre-first day training, documentation, and payroll onboarding.
- Oversee Company Management credit card logs, purchase orders, reimbursements, etc.
- Handle incident reports, injuries, insurance, and emergency situations as needed.
- Act as Geva’s COVID health officer, organizing testing needs and providing onsite support if needed.
DESIRED TRAITS IN A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
- Familiarity with the professional theatrical process.
- Experience in company management, hospitality, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Microsoft programs and Google Suites.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for asking informed questions and presenting research information, and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt them to a group of different projects.
- Ability to handle responsibility with little or no supervisor while displaying consistent expertise.
- A valid US driver’s license and comfortability driving multiple people at the same time.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment.
- Ability to work flexibly on some evenings, weekends, and the occasional holiday.
- Ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to crouch, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, stand and sit for extended periods of time, reach above, below and at neck level, have full range of neck motion, see near and far with good depth perception, and work indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience ranging from $20-$22/hr.
