What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitor Services Associate position at Gettysburg History (Adams County Historical Society)?
Position Summary: Gettysburg History's Beyond the Battle Museum is seeking a visitor services associate to join our team.
The Essential Functions of the Position Include:
● Assisting with all front-end operations from a central reception desk, especially museum ticketing and gift shop sales
● Processing new and renewing memberships
● Stocking/restocking gift shop
● Assisting with product/sales inventory
● Assisting with online gift shop sales
● Basic reception duties, including answering phones
● Answering visitors’ questions to enhance their experience at the museum
● Working with volunteers to ensure all functions are operating smoothly
Experience:
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with the general public
● Ability to learn new programs and software quickly
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Products
● Experience with CRM database system is helpful
● High Energy and enthusiasm for Gettysburg/Adams County history
● Team player with problem solving skills
● Detail-oriented and highly organized
Terms of Employment:
● Part-time, approximately 8 to 28 hours per week, hours vary based on seasonal needs.
● Must be available to work a flexible schedule
● Must be available to work 7 days per week from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., holidays, and occasionally early mornings and evenings
● $12-15 per hour depending on experience
● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
