Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the timely availability of materials, components, and finished products used in the manufacturing process. This role supports production planning, purchasing, and engineering by overseeing material movement, conducting regular cycle counts, and maintaining system accuracy within the company's designated systems.

The position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, familiarity with manufacturing processes, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the designated system (i.e. Boostmyshop, etc.)
  • Perform routine cycle counts, investigate variances, and reconcile discrepancies promptly
  • Track incoming and outgoing materials, subassemblies, and finished drones to ensure real-time visibility of inventory
  • Manage part, identification of parts, labeling, lot control, according to company's traceability requirements and for compliance purposes
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production and shipping teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
  • Coordinates receiving, storage, and kitting of drone components, including motors, PCBs, antennas, sensors, and composite materials
  • Maintain proper organization and cleanliness of inventory areas, enforcing FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and shelf-life controls
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including documentation and packaging of finished drones or assemblies
  • Update and audit inventory data in the designated systems and support inventory-related reporting
  • Works with the supervisor and team members in determining the space required to stock products, parts and materials, consolidates for stacking opportunities
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce stock discrepancies and increase accuracy
  • Collaborate with support departments, purchasing, engineering on part number creation, BOM accuracy, and material revisions
  • Ensure materials handling follows company safety policies and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures for sensitive electronics
  • Maintain required documentation for compliance or internal quality management standards
  • Participate in periodic internal and external audits related to materials and inventory records
  • Participates in training to maintain and update related knowledge
  • Collaborates in special projects as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree is preferred in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 3 years of inventory control or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace, electronics, or precision assembly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with inventory control platforms MRP, ERP related
  • Experience with cycle counting, BOM structures, and traceability requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of materials, work orders, and engineering change notices
  • Effective communication and teamwork across departments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing receiving and inventory tasks
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages, parts, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing ladders or step stools to retrieve or store materials
  • Manual dexterity to handle small drone components, packaging materials, and labeling equipment
  • Visual acuity to inspect materials, read packing slips, and verify part numbers
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts)
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment may include varying temperatures, moderate noise, and the use of safety equipment
  • Occasionally overtime to meet production or shipping schedules

Salary : $37,400 - $42,000
