Company Description GETCAP Head Start Child Development Centers provide comprehensive early childhood education and family support services to infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. The program focuses on promoting school readiness through developmentally appropriate learning experiences and nurturing care. GETCAP Head Start partners closely with families and the community to support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Team members work in a collaborative environment that values inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement for both staff and children.
Role Description Early Head Start Teachers are responsible for providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care and education to infants and toddlers in an on-site classroom setting in Tyler, TX. In this full-time role, teachers plan and implement daily lessons and activities aligned with Early Head Start standards, support children’s social-emotional and cognitive development, and maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment. They observe and document children’s progress, communicate regularly with families, and participate in family conferences and home-school connections. Teachers collaborate with other staff to meet program goals, adhere to health and safety regulations, and engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood or Early Head Start setting.
  • Demonstrated ability in Lesson Planning, including creating developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and engaging classroom activities.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and team members, including clear documentation and reporting.
  • Experience in Training or willingness to participate in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, health, and safety.
  • Relevant credential in early childhood education (CDA, associate degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and child development best practices is beneficial.
  • Ability to meet program health, safety, and background check requirements and to perform job duties in an active classroom environment.
