The Role
Access to Academic Research Manager - Correctional Facilities
In this role, you will lead efforts to expand access to academic resources for incarcerated individuals across various correctional facilities. You will collaborate with prison administrators, corrections IT departments, and educators to understand their needs, license our products and services, and onboard new sites. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing educational opportunities for incarcerated scholars, aiming to reach all eligible institutions by 2027.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with correctional institutions and stakeholders to expand educational access through ethical technology solutions.
Engage stakeholders via email, phone, and virtual meetings to onboard facilities, address inquiries, and troubleshoot issues.
Provide comprehensive account support, including order processing, negotiating licensing agreements, closing sales, and analyzing usage data.
Identify prospects, prioritize activities, and maintain detailed records in the organization's CRM system.
Attend industry conferences to stay informed on trends and network with relevant stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with User Support teams to optimize JSTOR usage in correctional settings.
Gain insights into corrections purchasing cycles and tech onboarding processes to enhance customer service.
Assist in distributing updates on our offline index through email and phone communications.
Occasional travel (less than 15% of the time) to conferences and offices may be required.
Required
Experience and Skills:
3-7 years of experience in office environments, demonstrating success in presenting ideas effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Approachable demeanor with a focus on building strong relationships internally and externally.
Familiarity with the criminal legal system, either through personal or professional experience.
Collaborative mindset with a commitment to lifelong learning.
Interest in expanding access to higher education and promoting social justice.
Preferred
Familiarity with decision-makers in county jail systems.
Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in CRM systems, email platforms, and file-sharing tools.
Experience with government purchasing processes.
Work Authorization
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
Compensation And Benefits
Starting salary ranges from $70,000 to $87,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, employer-paid retirement contributions, parental and caregiver leave, paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and wellness benefits.
