Job Summary
Open availability required. must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Weekday shifts are often 7am-3pm
Weekend shifts are 3-5 hours long between 7am-3pm
Must be available to work between 6am-3pm
The Front End Café Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while efficiently processing orders in both the café and drive-thru. This role is the first point of contact for customers and plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming, accurate, and efficient experience from order placement to handoff.
Front End Associates handle order taking, cash and card transactions, expo and order accuracy, and support daily café operations including cleaning, stocking, dishwashing, and basic food prep. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and reliability. Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and create a positive, welcoming atmosphere
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers inside the café and in the drive-thru
- Answer questions about menu items, specials, and promotions
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring all customer requests are met
- Resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
Transaction Processing
- Operate the POS system to process orders and payments
- Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions
- Make correct change and issue receipts
- Maintain cash drawer accuracy throughout the shift
- Balance the cash drawer at the end of assigned shifts when required
Order Accuracy & Expo
- Expo orders to ensure accuracy and completeness before handoff
- Coordinate with baristas and kitchen staff to keep orders flowing efficiently
- Ensure orders are handed out correctly to the correct customer
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house, including counters, equipment, and lobby
- Assist with dishwashing and maintaining a sanitary work environment
- Restock supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, condiments, and grab-and-go items
- Support opening and closing cleaning duties as scheduled
Operations Support
- Assist with basic food prep and packaging as needed
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies
- Work collaboratively with team members to support daily operations
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by management or shift leads
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Previous quick-service restaurant or retail experience is a plus, but not required
