PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Account Executive is responsible for driving sales growth by providing exceptional service and product expertise to existing customers, while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities within assigned territories. This role involves managing a structured daily schedule to engage with current and prospective clients, secure orders, and expand account relationships. Experience in the food and beverage industry and bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Bring in new business by actively cold calling and following up on all leads provided in a timely fashion.

· Weekly upkeep of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool

· Maintains a thorough understanding of products, quality, pack, promotions, substitutions, pricing and services to be able to match products to account needs and increase sales volume.

· Tracks account sales to identify trends in amounts and produce purchased. Fully utilizes company software programs to track and analyze account and sales information.

· Build existing customer base and manage allocated accounts.

· Negotiates products with customers based on margin goals, providing volume program or other agreements. Promotes products on a yearly / seasonal contract.

· Manages and ensures orders are accurately documented and input into the computer system accurately.

· Solves service problems, tracks order/delivery errors, calls on accounts to resolve issues and follow up on special orders.

· Makes regular visits to assigned accounts to assess customer satisfaction with price, products and service.

· Develops and maintains historical perspective on the marketplace to analyze and predict future trends and needs. Also maintains familiarity with competitor’s products and services.

· Interact and communicate with sales team members, customer service, and operations in a timely and informative manner on market conditions, delivery schedules, and product information.

· Maintaining complete and accurate records of all sales and customers.

· Maintain and develop working relationships with the sales team.

· Improve sales revenue in line with established sales targets.

· Collaborate with sales team on pricing strategy and program implementation planning.

· Maintain sales targets and category growth.

· Daily sales and pricing development.

· Work with the transportation department to facilitate timely customer deliveries.

· Introduce new produce items to existing and potential customer base.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Understanding of the fresh foods supply-chain, annual supply / pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.

· Must be able to think strategically and develop long-term plans and relationships.

· Highly organized with strong multitasking skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment & under pressure, meet deadlines & accomplish team objectives.

· Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

· Thorough understanding of produce-specific information such as growing seasons, inventory experience, market conditions, and knowledge of pricing.

· Proven success managing accounts.

· Highly motivated with a desire to be successful.

· Effective time management skills.

· A positive, professional attitude with the ability to take initiative.

· Motivation to research and provide proactive solutions.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems.

· Experienced in product specification and quality parameters.

· Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

· Sound knowledge of proven sales processes.

· Growth and sales oriented and the ability to work and succeed in a team atmosphere.

· Drive and motivation to generate new business and maintain current relationships.

· Qualified applicants will be highly motivated; self-starters who possess excellent communication skills and excellent planning and follow-through skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· Proven track record and related job experiences within the produce industry.

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer software programs as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,615.32 - $66,977.59 per year
