Caregiver / Home Care Aide

Position Summary

Get Care at Home is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers who are committed to providing quality in-home care to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Caregivers assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, household needs, safety, and companionship. Our goal is to help each client maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life while remaining in their own home.

Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include:

• Assisting with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Providing respite care and support for family caregivers
• Preparing meals and providing feeding assistance
• Supporting proper nutrition and hydration
• Completing light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and general tidying
• Accompanying clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as assigned
• Assisting with mobility and transfers
• Supporting fall prevention and other client safety measures
• Providing behavioral redirection when appropriate
• Offering companionship, emotional support, and encouragement
• Documenting services and reporting changes in a client’s condition

Qualifications

• At least six months of caregiving or home care experience preferred
• California Home Care Aide registration or Home Health Aide certification preferred
• Negative tuberculosis test completed within the past two years
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance when driving is required for an assignment
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, families, and agency staff
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Must be willing and able to complete all required background checks

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Services are provided in clients’ private homes
• Position may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with client mobility
• Some assignments may require lifting or assisting with transfers
• Caregivers must be able to perform the duties required for their assigned clients safely
