What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator - Gestamp Chassis position at Gestamp?
Job Summary:
Responsible for repairing e-coat racks and other equipment using tools, welders, torches and machines, fabricates various types of products per work orders or special request.
Responsibilities:
- Study and interpret work orders pertinent to shop needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, repair, build racks and other needed items
- Interpret measurements, verify specifications and alter dimensions to fit specifications.
- Provide raw material inventory in order to maintain plant racks and equipment.
- Perform rack inventory and document status or racks and special projects.
- Ensure rack repairs are completed in a timely matter and on schedule
- Build prototypes and test products for plant per work orders
- Fill out daily tracing reports on repairs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least 3 – 5 years previous work experience.
- Ability to work with your hands, including manipulating components to meet product specifications
- Must have basic math skills due to the technological needs.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, manuals, and work with computers.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects during the fabrication/repair process.
- Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time, often doing repetitive motions.
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification and operate said lift.
- Must be a certified welder through Gestamp weld program- outside accreditations accepted.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
