What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMT Project Manager position at Gessner Engineering LLC?
Gessner Engineering is looking to welcome a Project Manager with a background in private sector and governmental construction projects to manage materials testing and special inspection services. As a CMT Project Manager, you will coordinate the efforts of other engineers, technicians, special inspectors, and sub-consultants to deliver results that ensure our goal of exceeding our clients’ expectations on every project.
Responsibilities
- Attend pre-construction meetings where necessary.
- Evaluated construction progress to ensure conformance with construction documents
- Conducting field and laboratory tests on materials to measure compliance with regulations.
- Refer Non-Conforming items to Engineer of Record
- Maintaining records of construction observations and testing
- Oversee the traceability of test samples
- Aid in scheduling project testing and observations
- Aid in cost estimates as necessary
- Develop and maintain relations with new and current clients.
- Complete all reports and project documents in a timely manner meeting agreed to expectations. Organizing test results, ensuring accuracy in reports.
- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria during the execution of engineering services.
- Mentoring/managing junior and senior CMT field and laboratory staff, and supervision of PM's and field technicians
- Participation in meeting the office’s business development, marketing and proposal goals.
- Able to make informed decisions-based lab/field test results
- Develop training pathways for technicians in order to obtain required certifications
- Manage certifications for technicians
Qualifications
- Education
- Required: High School Degree or equivalent
- Preferred: Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or any related field
- Experience
- 3-5 years of industry experience
- Certifications & Licensure
- Required: Valid Driver’s License with Insurable Driving Record
