As a Porter at gertrude's, you are the backbone of our daily operations and the guardian of our physical space. We are building a kitchen and dining room, and we need a dedicated team member who takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and spotless environment. You are a key driver of our success, ensuring that our chefs have clean tools and our guests have a beautiful space to enjoy.
Schedule:
- We offer both full-time and part-time hourly roles.
- Candidates can expect a schedule of 3-5 days per week, with standard shifts lasting approximately 8 hours.
- Availability for nights, weekends, and select holidays is required.
- We require a minimum commitment of three shifts per week to ensure team consistency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Company Culture

- Fostering a calm, supportive environment in both FOH and BOH spaces through collaborative teamwork.
Facility Maintenance & Safety
- Dish & Equipment Care: Manage the dish station with efficiency, ensuring all plateware, glassware, and kitchen tools are cleaned, sanitized, and returned to their proper places.
- Cleanliness Standards: Maintain the 'like-new' quality of our brand-new facility by executing daily and weekly deep-cleaning checklists for the kitchen, basement, and guest areas.
- Safety & Organization: Keep all walkways and exits clear and organized; manage trash, recycling, and compost removal according to city regulations.
- Receiving: Check in and put away all orders.
- Chemical Safety: Maintain a working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers, ensuring they are used and stored safely.
Support & Development
- Assist the kitchen team with basic prep tasks or receiving deliveries during slower periods, fostering a 'one team' mentality.
- Commit to continuous self-development, learning the specific maintenance needs of our high-end kitchen equipment.
