Duties
- Manage the overall operation of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians, ensuring high performance standards and continuous training in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and new technologies
- Oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Ensure accurate auto estimating and service writing to provide transparent communication with customers about repair needs and costs
- Drive upselling initiatives by identifying additional services that benefit the customer while increasing departmental revenue
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across all repair processes
- Handle cash transactions accurately while managing customer inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management and automotive repair operations
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, alignments, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Hands-on experience working as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable to understand technical challenges firsthand
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently
- Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing procedures to ensure accurate invoicing and transparency
- Strong sales acumen with experience in upselling vehicle maintenance services and automobile sales when appropriate
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining high levels of integrity
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
