Position Description:
The Director of Project Planning and Controls’ mission is to develop and maintain a high-performing Project Planning and Control’s team that delivers successfully on complex construction projects through development, management, and optimization of project schedules. This position serves as a central point for integrating timelines, contractual milestones, resource planning, and risk analysis at both project and portfolio levels in all stages of development and construction across the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules using Primavera software and Procore taking into consideration key milestones, critical path analysis, resource allocation, and dependencies for timely completion.
- Lead, educate, and grow a team of planners, schedulers, control analysts, and/or cost controllers.
- Work closely with assigned Project Controller to monitor project expenses and track against the allocated budget, taking appropriate actions to control costs and prevent overruns.
- Evaluate cost impacts associated with schedule changes and delays and collaborate with the project team, contractor, and associated stakeholders to provide recommendations to minimize financial exposure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify resource requirements and ensure optimal utilization of equipment, personnel, and materials.
- Continuously assess and adjust resource plans in coordination with stakeholders to accommodate project needs and resolve potential conflicts.
- Ensure clear understanding of project objectives, timelines, and deliverables among all parties involved.
- Proactively monitor project progress, identifying deviations and communicate with Project Managers and Directors to support implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly progress reports, project documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, contractors, suppliers, and if necessary community representatives.
- Provide and create visual management communication tools, including executive level schedules that illustrate project health through key milestones, progress curves, risks, etc.
- Travel approximately 15% of the time.

What You Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8 years of construction scheduling or project controls experience.
- Highly proficient in scheduling software (Primavera P6) and other project management tools (Procore, Power Bi, etc.)
- Advanced understanding of energy project schedules is required.
- Ability to drive digital transformation across planning and project control tools.
- Ability to operate at both a portfolio and project level.
- Curiosity and continuous learning.
- Prior people management and/or demonstrated leadership.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Teams; Sharepoint; Word; Excel; PowerPoint.)
Pay Range for the posted level: $165,000 - 195,000.00. Salary is commensurate with experience.
