Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas and assist physical therapists with patient setup for therapy sessions
- Support patients during exercises by providing encouragement and ensuring proper technique under supervision
- Monitor patient responses during therapy, noting any discomfort or adverse reactions to report to the therapist
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and session details
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining therapy processes
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment spaces
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care plans for inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute patients
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service and patient care excellence
- Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy
- Experience working in hospital, clinic, or outpatient settings preferred; inpatient or acute care experience highly valued
- Familiarity with orthopedic, geriatrics, or sub-acute care environments is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to effectively support patients and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols in clinical settings
- Prior experience with intake procedures and post-acute care processes is a plus
