Gerhart is looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to join our talented team working in our Tatamy, PA territory. Our ideal candidates should be driven, ready to be hands-on, have outstanding communication skills, enjoy working with their hands, and excel working in an ever-changing work environment. In this position a Field Service Technician will provide on-site calibration and repairs on industrial weighing equipment. The field service technician will work independently while part of a regional field service team, and be responsible for customer relations, productive use of time and personal safety.
To perform this job successfully, individuals should have the qualifications as listed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough on-site calibrations of weighing and material handling systems.
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to mechanically troubleshoot, identify, and diagnose malfunctions and repair weighing equipment.
- Interact in a professional manner with customers. Review and communicate your scheduled task, call status, and service reports with the customer and Team Leader.
Qualifications:
- Technical aptitude on mechanical and electronic systems, preferably a vocational training certificate, military experience or A.S. degree in related fields.
- Ability to comprehend manuals, drawings, wiring diagrams and take accurate measurements.
- Ability to lift and handle weights of >50 lbs consistently throughout the work day.
- Maintain valid Drivers license and safe driving record.
- Basic understanding of 120VAC wiring and/or DC signal wiring
