The Market Intelligence Analyst will regularly work with minimal supervision from the Pricing and Market Intelligence Manager on projects by developing and managing the action plans, analyzing research results, and presenting strategies and deploying them to help the organization meet its strategic goals.

The Market Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for analysis, recommendations, development and deployment of action plans and process improvements with little need of validation by the Pricing and Market Intelligence Manager. This role is accountable for data stewardship (automation and processes), Power BI (development and routine reporting), regression/statistical modeling and predictive capabilities (development and routine analysis) and work as lead coordinating projects. The Market Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for creating actionable insights, collaboration, predictive analysis, machine learning, data scrapping and recommending specific actions to drive business objectives.
The Market Intelligence Analyst must work to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to continually capture new market insights and to share them within the organization.
Abilities and Skills: Openness (both learning and new ideas), goals oriented, time management, self-starter, mental-agility, relationship building, communication skills, presentation skills (for training and taking technical issues and presenting them to business users), strong business acumen, etc. Ability to decipher problems and bring forth solutions to solve those problems.
Will this position require travel?
The Data Analyst I may be required to travel approximately four times per year to visit customers, mills, seminars, trainings and/or attend trade shows and trade association meetings.

- Regular analysis of statistics (shipments, market share, by country, region, imports, exports) for Gerdau’s product group(s) and substitutes. Output will be regular in frequency and format (clear graphic format that are readily understandable for intended audiences; internal and external depending on circumstance.)
- Execution and enhancement of established econometric models for market segment forecasting. Generation of new forecasting models.
- Competitor analysis
- Medium (1-3 year) and long term (3-10 year) market studies
- Product & Service Analysis:
- Monitor the competitive positioning of Gerdau products.
- Portfolio review (short term profitability and long-term viability)
- Support on development and improvement of products and services
- Commercial Analysis:
- Commercial strategies (Segmentation)
- Customer classification
- Customer profitability
- Forecasting models
- Market Relationship Strategy Support
- Leverage technical sales support
- Leverage trade marketing resources
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, data science, data analysis, or a related area
- 0 - 2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, marketing analytics or related analytical roles preferred
- Experience in a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, using standard databases and analytical software
- Analytically focused, and have proven experience developing action plans based on their own analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with other departments and customers
- Experience in planning and performing data analysis projects and processes from start to finish
- Proficient with Power BI, statistical analysis and research methodologies, along with common programs (such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel), RPA technology (Robotic Process Automation), online survey tools and syndicated data sources
- Time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required
- Strong organizational skills, customer focus, work creatively and analytically to solve day-in and day-out problems
- Requires proven ability to establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with commercial and operations teams
- Prior knowledge and experience in manufacturing, steel or steel using industries preferred
