Field Superintendent

Classification Title –

Excavation and Earthwork Superintendent – Full Time, Hourly

Job Description –

As an Excavation and Earthwork Superintendent, you will provide direction, leadership, and support to crews and hold your specified field crew members accountable for meeting their responsibilities. You will be responsible for overseeing crews to ensure both compliance with safety standards and quality of work. You will report directly to the project superintendent and will work with them to manage personnel onsite as well as make decisions pertaining to production. You may, at times, work side by side with operators, laborers and subs, so you must have the capability to manually complete all activity.

This position is 40 hours a week, typically on a schedule of 10 hours per day Mon-Thurs with occasional overtime. Schedules are typically project dependent.

Construction Type: Small Utilities, Excavation, Commercial, Selective and Total Structure Demolition, Design-Build Project Delivery, Renovation, Carpentry, Concrete work, Asphalt paving, Certified Epoxy Liner Install, Government Contracts. This is not an exhaustive list.

Minimum Qualifications –

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in excavation or related construction discipline.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly managing people, preferably in the construction field.

· Must be able to obtain a Malmstrom AFB pass – employment dependent on passing a background check and a pre-employment drug test.

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or similar preferred.

· Combination of education and experience may be considered.

· Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

· Must be able to work in a noisy environment.

· Endurance and ability to visit job site, including stairs or other elevated structures.

· This position is very active and requires employees to frequently stand or sit for long periods of time. Regularly required to walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull.

· Vision abilities are required for driving which include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
