Base Metals Execution Trader

Key Responsibilities

·         Execute and book proprietary and hedging trades in base metals futures, options, swaps, and spreads across LME, SHFE, SGX and COMEX.

·         Manage booking process of all executed trades

·         Provide timely updates to traders on market activity as per requirement

·         Maintain accurate, real-time records of open positions, fills, and exposures across exchanges and brokers

·         Coordinate with operations/finance teams to ensure timely settlement and funding of margin calls.

·         Perform daily reconciliation of futures trades, positions, and cash movements against broker statements and internal ledgers.

·         Track daily P&L, margin requirements, and position limits; escalate breaches promptly.

·         Investigate and resolve trade breaks, booking errors, or settlement discrepancies.

·         Support internal and external audits with trade documentation and control evidence.

Qualifications & Experience

·         4 years of hands-on execution experience in base metals derivatives on LME, SHFE, and COMEX.

·         Proven track record in LME–SHFE arbitrage, calendar spreads, and cross-commodity strategies

·         Strong operational discipline: experienced in order management, trade capture, and daily reconciliation

·         Deep knowledge of base metals fundamentals (Cu, Al, Zn, Iron ore) and exchange rules.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related course

·         Fluency in Mandarin and English (written and spoken) is essential.

·         Proficiency with Bloomberg is highly desirable.
