Engineering Intern – Composites & Process Engineering

Pay: $17.00 - $24.50

GEOTEK, a market leader in high-performance, engineered pultruded composite structural solutions, is looking for high-potential, highly motivated engineering interns to join our engineering team. As an engineering intern, you will support all areas of our business—from manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement, to new product development, research and development, and testing. Working in partnership with other engineers and depending on assignment, primary duties may include on-floor process support, root cause investigation and corrective action, preparation of 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, material testing in the lab, and other engineering duties as assigned.

This assignment focuses on composites, materials, manufacturing processes, and process engineering. Students with interest in composites or materials engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support composite manufacturing and materials evaluation projects.

• Assist with process engineering tasks, documentation, and improvement activities.

• Create and revise SolidWorks models, assemblies, and drawings (ANSI Y14.5).

• Participate in root cause investigation and corrective action.

• Provide on-floor support for process trials and manufacturing challenges.

• Assist with materials testing, data analysis, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Composites, Chemical, Industrial, Civil, or Materials Engineering (Mechanical with composites interest preferred).

• Minimum GPA: 3.0.

• Experience with SolidWorks required.

• Strong interest in composites, materials, manufacturing, and process improvement.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform hands-on testing.

• Familiarity with materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes is preferred.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Previous related internship preferred.
