Mechanical Engineering Technology Intern

Pay: $17.00 - $24.50

GEOTEK, a market leader in high-performance, engineered pultruded composite structural solutions, is looking for high-potential, highly motivated engineering interns to join our engineering team. As an engineering intern, you will support all areas of our business—from manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement, to new product development, research and development, and testing. Working in partnership with other engineers and depending on assignment, primary duties may include on-floor process support, root cause investigation and corrective action, preparation of 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, material testing in the lab, and other engineering duties as assigned.

This assignment is focused heavily on SolidWorks CAD modeling, drafting, drawing updates, and BOM creation/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Build and update CAD models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks (ANSI Y14.5).
• Support creation, revision, and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Assist with engineering change documentation and CAD workflow updates.
• Provide drafting and documentation support for engineering teams.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective action work.
• Assist with prototype procurement, testing documentation, and production support.
  
  

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Interest in CAD-focused engineering work, drafting, and detailed documentation.
• Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs for part handling or prototype work.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous internship or technical work experience preferred.
