Job Description: Environmental Asbestos Professional
Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 47-year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, building envelope consulting, and steel testing throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.
GCI seeks a qualified candidate for a full-time environmental consulting position to perform office and field work associated with Asbestos Site Assessments.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or related field
· 2 years of Strong Asbestos Site Assessments
· 2 years of relevant Phase I & II ESA work experience
· Team player with effective internal and external communication skills
· Proficient in MS Office applications
· Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
· Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
· Ability to work in variable conditions, including uneven ground and access to remote sites
· Ability to routinely lift varying weights from 10-50 pounds
· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPR a plus
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform field data collection for environmental investigations
· Collect and compile environmental data from samples of soil, water, and other materials for analysis
· Collect and document field data in accordance with project plans
· Coordinate laboratory sample submittals and maintain chain of custody
· Interpret analytical results and compare to regulatory standards
· Prepare technical sections of Phase I & Phase II reports
· Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
