What You Will Do
The Accounting & Finance Intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and financial management. This internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world financial operations, assist in financial analysis, and contribute to the day-to-day activities of the accounting department.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Record Keeping: Assist in data entry and maintaining accurate financial records.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Support the accounts payable and receivable processes by verifying invoices, processing payments, and reconciling accounts.
Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies.
Financial Reporting: Prepare basic financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Assist in Audits: Support the auditing process by gathering and organizing financial documentation.
Software and Tools: Utilize accounting software and tools (e.g., Viewpoint, Excel) for various accounting tasks.
Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor, which may include financial analysis, process improvements, or research.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
What You Need to Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. We also invite active members of the military who are eligible for the SkillBridge Program.
- Expected graduation of Winter 2024 or Summer 2025. For service members, they should be ending their active service within twelve months of summer 2024.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
This is an on-site role at our corporate headquarter in Denver, Colorado. This is a hybrid role with reporting to the office three days, and remote two days per week.
