Job Description
GeoSpecialties is seeking an experienced Shotcrete/Gunite Finisher to join our field operations team. This position is responsible for finishing shotcrete and gunite applications on structural rehabilitation, geotechnical, and specialty construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience producing quality finishes on a variety of structures and surfaces while maintaining high safety and workmanship standards.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Finish both Shotcrete and Gunite to specified grade wires, elevations, and thicknesses.
- Cut, rod, screed, float, trowel, and shape freshly applied Shotcrete and Gunite.
- Perform finishing work on vertical walls, overhead surfaces, culverts, sewers, tunnels, retaining walls, slopes, and structural rehabilitation projects.
- Understand all phases of Shotcrete and Gunite finishing, from rough cutting through final finish.
- Achieve smooth, uniform finishes while meeting project specifications for grades, slopes, and contours.
- Work closely with nozzlemen, laborers, operators, and project supervisors to ensure quality production.
- Assist with reinforcing steel and wire mesh placement as needed.
- Follow company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
- Travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience finishing both Shotcrete and Gunite.
- Experience with structural concrete rehabilitation projects.
- OSHA training preferred.
- MSHA experience a plus.
- DOT and municipal infrastructure experience a plus.
- Experience with carved rock walls, sculpted Shotcrete, decorative rock finishes, or specialty architectural finishes is a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
