Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Engineering Geologist based in Carlsbad, CA. The successful candidate will oversee and conduct site investigations, supervise fieldwork, perform geological logging, and prepare detailed geotechnical and engineering geology reports. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings with clients and stakeholders, ensuring project goals are met with technical accuracy and in accordance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineering to analyze and interpret ground conditions and provide technical recommendations.
- Hands-on experience in Logging and detailed documentation of soil, rock, and subsurface conditions.
- Expertise in conducting Site Investigations and Field Work, including sampling and observing in situ conditions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Geologist (PG) or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license in California is required.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and adapt to different project needs.
- Prior experience in managing large-scale geotechnical projects is a plus.
Preferred Experience/ Qualifications
- Fault trenching and seismic hazard analysis
- Experience working with agencies such as CGS, local municipalities, and building departments
- Familiarity with Southern California soil conditions and coastal environments
- Experience with building clientele base and marketing- existing client relationships in Southern California is a plus
