Purchasing and Inventory Manager

As we continue to grow in the marketplace, we need to hire a full-time Purchasing & Inventory Manager to join our office in Richardson, TX.

We are seeking a high energy, high bandwidth, dynamic, and detail-oriented Purchasing and Inventory Manager to lead our procurement and inventory control functions within a distribution environment.  This role is vital and will be responsible for managing inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, maximizing inventory turns, minimizing inventory losses, track shipments and stock levels, while working closely with the management team to maximize the customer experience.  The ideal candidate will bring technical proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, along with extensive experience in logistics, materials management, and supplier relations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a team of inventory or warehouse employees.
• Purchasing & Vendor Relations
• Manage inventory shipments and stock levels.
• Maximize inventory turns while minimizing inventory losses
• Evaluates shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
• Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
• Manages schedules of employees and shipments to optimize operations.
• Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
• Monitors demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
• Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.
• Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory and warehouse employees.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Work with management to maximize the customer experience
• Thorough understanding of tariffs and their impact on inventory pricing.
• Handle negotiations with key vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing purchasing, procurement, or supply chain functions.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as NetSuite; technical proficiency in using spreadsheets and inventory management software.
• Strong background in logistics inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and finance.
• Prior experience working with inventory control systems, supply chain management tools, and demand forecasting methodologies is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar
• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
• Product and inventory management certification a plus
• Experience in managing high cost capital goods inventory is a plus.
